Cartmell Elementary Awards Ceremony was a huge success! We are so grateful for such a tremendous turnout! This was our most highly attended event during my six years as principal at Cartmell Elementary. Thank you to everyone who showed up today to support their Cartmell students. We appreciate your patience while dealing with long lines and a packed gymnasium. The students' smiles showed that the wait was well worth it. We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and relaxing summer.

The Cartmell Elementary Greenery Protection Club recently earned a perfect score in Level 2 of the Student Technology Leadership Program at the state meet. They came home with a trophy for being ranked "Best in Level 2." This achievement allowed them to advance to the final Level 3 round of the competition.
While the group did not move on to the top 20 state winners in Level 3, their performance was a major milestone for the school. This year’s team is officially the most successful STLP group Cartmell has had in the past five years. Congratulations to these young Panthers and their sponsors, Diane McCarthy and Leonela Morales!
Not only have they been successful in the state competition, they also organized a lengthy recycling campaign in which more than 1,100 pounds of aluminum was collected. This ranked Cartmell as the top recycling large elementary school in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The school will also receive a check for $2,500 from River Metals Recycling.
