Black and Gold Night will be held next week to spotlight middle and high school basketball teams.
The boys and girls teams for seventh, eighth, JV and Varsity will play one quarter each on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Admission to the event is $5 for adults and $1 for students.
A chili supper will begin at 5 p.m. with games starting at 6 p.m.

Cartmell Elementary held a house assembly and costume day today. Some students were sorted into their houses by spinning the wheel. Awards were also given for attendance and students and staff played games. (More photos are on the District Facebook page.)

Carroll County 4H Extension Agent Joyce Doyle talked with students in Mrs. Alsup and Ms. Williams' classes about habitats this week. Students made a craft and discussed what types of animals live in various habitats.











Cartmell Elementary School held its fall festival last night. Students were able to dress in costume, play games, peruse the book fair and the winners of the pumpkin contest were announced. More photos are on the district's Facebook page.


Cartmell Elementary students with October birthdays got to have a special lunch and birthday cake to celebrate their special month. The food is provided by the food services department. Students also received birthday cards from the Cartmell Birthday Club run by Jill Hamilton.

Cartmell Elementary School is hosting its book fair this week. Students can shop from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Family and Friends Shopping Night is Thursday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. before the Fall Festival. The fair will also be open on Monday during parent-teacher conferences. In addition, students can compete in the pumpkin decorating contest.
